The Interlochen Public Library New Building Campaign has passed $2.1 million thanks to the generous support of the Interlochen community as well as local and regional granting organizations. The group’s 2nd annual “Location Celebration” will mark the fundraising milestone on Sunday, July 31 from 2-5 p.m.

The event will take place at the site of the library’s future home on 10th St. next to the Green Lake Township offices and fire station. In case of inclement weather, the Celebration will take place in Golden Fellowship Hall. The afternoon will include updates on progress toward the campaign’s $2.5 million goal and building timeline.

Highlights of this year’s celebration include entertainment by the Cherry Capital Men’s Chorus, games, a kid’s corner with reading dogs Chaz and Denny, door prizes, refreshments and snacks including Nate’s Kettlecorn.

Help Pave the Way

The event will also offer the opportunity to view samples and purchase “Bricks for Books.” The 4″X4″ and 4″X8″ engraved pavers, at $40 and $80 respectively, will become part of the permanent pathway in the library’s landscape. For more information and to download a form, click here.
